Report: Mike Conley returning to Jazz on three-year deal

Veteran point guard Mike Conley has signed a three-year, $72.5 million contract with the Utah Jazz in free agency, according to Adrian Wojnarowski. Conley was an unrestricted free agent after spending the last two seasons of his five-year, $152 million contract with the Utah Jazz. He signed the deal as a member of the Memphis Grizzlies, but was traded in the 2019 offseason to Utah.

Conley formed a strong backcourt in Utah with Donovan Mitchell, helping the Jazz capture the West’s No. 1 seed in 2020-21. The Jazz won their first-round playoff series against the Grizzlies, but faltered in the second round against the Los Angeles Clippers. Conley was dealing with a hamstring strain during the postseason, missing the first five games of the series before ultimately going 1-8 from the field in a Game 6 loss.

The veteran point guard averaged 16.2 points and 6.0 assists last season with the Jazz. In the last three years, he is averaging 17.7 points and 5.7 assists per game while providing a stellar defensive presence for his team.
