We have a 15-game slate in the majors on Wednesday, beginning at 12:35 p.m. ET with the Chicago Cubs and Cincinnati Reds. There are a lot good matchups happening across the league that will feature a ton of betting implications.

We started out the week on a good note, going 2-1 in our best bets for Tuesday night. Our lone loss was the Blue Jays’ run line -1.5 (-120) as they surprisingly lost to the Nationals 12-6. With the win, Washington snapped their seven-game losing skid. However, our two winning bets were Astros starter Framber Valdez going over 4.5 strikeouts (-110) as he had 5 strikeouts in 6.2 IP and Mets starter Marcus Stroman going over 4.5 strikeouts (-115) against the Giants (9 K in 7.0 IP).

Here we’re going to be tracking all the best MLB picks base on the odds and lines on DraftKings Sportsbook for Wednesday’s baseball action.

MLB picks for Wednesday, August 18th

Jose Berrios over 5.5 strikeouts (-130) vs. Nationals

After losing 12-6 on Tuesday night, the Toronto Blue Jays will look to get back in the win column this afternoon with Jose Berrios on the mound. Berrios comes into today’s series finale with a 8-6 record and 3.52 ERA through 23 starts. The 27-year-old starter has been a strikeout machine, recording 142 strikeouts in 138.0 IP.

The former Twins pitcher has gone over 5.5 strikeouts in 15 out of 23 outings this season, which includes 4 out of his last 6 starts. The Nationals’ offense does not strike out a ton at 8.11 strikeouts per game (4th in the majors), but Berrios has faced a couple of good offenses since arriving in Toronto and stymied both of them (Red Sox — 6 Ks, Royals — 7 Ks).

Red Sox (+100) vs. Yankees

If you are searching for a plus-money moneyline play on tonight’s slate, look no further than the Red Sox. Boston got swept in their doubleheader to the New York Yankees on Tuesday just after sweeping the Baltimore Orioles. The BoSox will have Nick Pivetta on the mound, who has a 9-5 record and 4.20 ERA in 23 starts this season. However, his road ERA has dropped to 3.09, despite the Red Sox losing Pivetta’s last two road starts. But I think Boston has the edge on the mound with the Yankees running out Andrew Heaney. Heaney has not looked good in his first three starts with New York. He has allowed 8 HRs and produced an ERA of 9.00. Take the Red Sox in this spot to salvage their three-game series against their AL East rivals.
