We have a 15-game schedule in the majors Wednesday, which means there are multiple opportunities to come away with a win in DraftKings baseball DFS. The main slate has 10 games starting at 7:05 p.m. ET.
Sometimes with a plus-matchup on the MLB game slate, we get an opportunity to slot multiple players from the same team into our DFS lineups. You can learn more about MLB DFS strategy, including team stacks, here.
Here, we’ll break down three of the best team stacks for the MLB slate on Wednesday, August 18th.
Red Sox vs. Yankees, 7:05 p.m. ET
Xander Bogaerts ($5,200)
J.D. Martinez ($4,800)
Alex Verdugo ($3,100)
The Boston Red Sox have lost the first two games of their three-game set against the New York Yankees. But they could be due for a win and offensive outburst tonight. The Red Sox will be going up against Yankees southpaw Andrew Heaney, who has struggled with a 9.00 ERA in three starts with New York. Heaney has given up 15 earned runs (8 HRs), including 3 home runs in his last start against the Chicago White Sox.
Red Sox outfielder J.D. Martinez (.500, 1 HR, 3 RBI), along with shortstop Xander Bogaerts (.500, 2 HRs, 4 RBI) have both had good numbers against the Yankees starter.
Braves vs. Marlins, 7:10 p.m. ET
Dansby Swanson ($4,800)
Freddie Freeman ($4,800)
Austin Riley ($4,600)
The Braves are coming into tonight’s game on a five-game winning streak and atop the NL East standings. Atlanta is averaging 7.2 runs per game and have scored 10 or more runs in 2 out of their last 4 games. The Braves should not have problems with Marlins starting pitcher Jesus Luzardo, who has an ERA of 9.20 in three starts this month.
It was tough to put together a stack for the Braves because everybody is on fire at the plate. However, I believe this specifc trio should be able to do some damage — especially Atlanta third baseman Austin Riley. In his last nine contests, the 24-year-old is averaging 11.4 FPPG and slashing .324/.390./.676 with 3 HRs and 6 RBI.
Pirates vs. Dodgers, 10:10 p.m. ET
Max Muncy ($5,700)
Corey Seager ($5,000)
Cody Bellinger ($4,500)
The Los Angeles Dodgers get another favorable pitching matchup with Pirates starter JT Brubaker on the mound. Brubaker has not pitched well this season with a 4-12 record and 5.13 ERA through 21 starts. However, the 27-year-old has not done well on the road with a 1-7 record and a rising 6.05 ERA in 11 outings. Dodgers outfielder Cody Bellinger is hitting .183 this season but has recorded a hit in 4 out of his last 5 games. Over that span, Bellinger is averaging 5.2 FPPG.
