Hello fantasy football enthusiast! Welcome to defense and special teams rankings for the 2021 NFL season. Below you will find a list of National Football League teams put into the order I would draft them for defensive and special teams fantasy football purposes. I am not artificial intelligence. I am real human man.

2021 Fantasy Football rankings: D/ST

When drafting a D/ST, don’t get all sure of yourself and think you know what you’re doing. You don’t. Will the Rams have a good defense? Sure, I don’t see why not. Will they be the best fantasy defense in the league in back-to-back season? Will they be second in sacks and touchdowns? Will they give up the fewest points in the league again? That’s a lot to ask and it rarely, if ever, happens.

Since 2012 we’ve seen the Bears, Chiefs, Eagles, Broncos, Vikings, Jaguars, Bears, Patriots, and Rams lead the league in D/ST fantasy points. And if you look at how they do on a matchup basis from week to week, you will see very little consistency. Yes, the Rams were awesome last season, but they also had eight games where they scored under eight fantasy points. Would I go back in time and pick them much earlier in my draft, sure, but I don’t have a time machine and D/ST fantasy points are too hard to project.

Don’t waste a mid-round pick on a D/ST. Wait and take a look at the first couple games of the season. Play the matchups and attack bad quarterbacks throughout the year off of the waiver wire.
