WBA “regular” bantamweight champion John Riel Casimero is set to put his title on the line on Saturday, Aug. 14 against challenger Guillermo Rigondeaux in Los Angeles.
Casimero is coming off a three-round, TKO victory over Duke Micah last September while Rigondeaux last defeated Liborio Solis by scorer’s decision last February.
The card will have two fights preceding it, the first being a 10-round bantemweight bout between Rau’Shee Warren and Damien Vasquez. Following that, Antonio Russell will fight Emmanuel Rodriguez for the interim WBA bantamweight title.
The 12-round fight is set to broadcast on Showtime, with coverage starting at 10:00 p.m. ET. and the ringwalks anticipated to begin at 11 p.m. ET. Casimero enters as the favorite to defend his title at -210 on DraftKings Sportsbook. Rigondeaux is the underdog at +170.
