The Tampa Bay Buccaneers might have a crowded backfield in the 2021 season, and what to expect from Ronald Jones is a bit in question. He was the top rusher for the team during the regular season in 2020 before Leonard Fournette took control of the lead role in the postseason in the run to the Super Bowl. It is difficult to be confident enough to go after the over rushing total for Jones, and that’s why the under is getting -130 odds. In addition to Fournette returning on a one-year deal, the Buccaneers also brought in Giovani Bernard this offseason. It’s fair to assume all three will see plenty of time on the field, so expecting any of them to reach 770 rushing yards is a stretch.

Jones scored seven touchdowns in the regular season in 2020, and we’re still going with the under. Bernard doesn’t figure to be much of a factor in short-yardage situations, but Fournette and Jones should both find the end zone a decent amount. Jones had nearly 100 more carries than Fournette in the regular season last year, but Fournette’s workload should increase after his postseason performance in 2020. There are too many questions to assume Jones reaches seven rushing scores.
