Why Courtland Sutton will go under on receiving yards, over on TD prop bets for 2021 NFL season

We take a look at the odds on the table for Denver Broncos WR Courtland Sutton available on DraftKings Sportsbook and make our predictions ahead of the 2021 NFL season.

The Denver Broncos have an impressive roster of skill players. Unfortunately, they have to choose between Drew Lock and Teddy Bridgewater at quarterback, which is going to limit the kind of production their receivers and tight ends are otherwise capable of. It’s something to take into consideration as you make prop bets for anyone on the roster.

Here, we’ll take a look at the prop bets on the table for Denver Broncos WR Courtland Sutton on DraftKings Sportsbook ahead of the 2021 NFL season and make our picks.

950.5 receiving yards: Over (-130) or Under (+100)

Our pick: Under

Last season was supposed to be Sutton’s emergence, but a torn ACL limited him to just one game. We never got to see the guy who muscled his way to 1,112 yards and six touchdowns in 2019. And he did that with a pretty crummy QB situation that year too. Unfortunately, the Broncos haven’t done much to make the quarterback situation any better this season, putting Drew Lock into a competition with Teddy Bridgewater. Both players are likely to depress the team’s overall passing numbers. And while Sutton is the kind of receiver who can thrive with a bad signal caller, the team’s also going to have a few more mouths to feed on shorter passes over the middle, not to mention higher expectations for Jerry Jeudy, who put up 856 yards as a rookie last year. Put it all together, and I think it’s going to be hard for Sutton to have that kind of yardage total.

5.5 receiving TDs: Over (-125) or Under (-105)

Our pick: Over

Even with emerging stud tight end Noah Fant, Sutton is just too much of a monster in the end zone to overlook, even for underwhelming quarterbacks. If the Broncos are going to score enough to keep pace with their opponents, they’re going to have to get the ball to Sutton inside the red zone.
