Why Joe Mixon will go over on rushing + receiving yards, TDs prop bets for 2021 NFL season

We take a look at the odds on the table for Cincinnati Bengals RB Joe Mixon available on DraftKings Sportsbook and make our predictions ahead of the 2021 NFL season.

The Cincinnati Bengals are one of the rare teams that should have a three-down workhorse back with Joe Mixon set to dominate the backfield touches in 2021. Giovani Bernard is no longer with the team, and Mixon has a chance at a huge season this year with the number of opportunities he should receive.

Here, we’ll take a look at the prop bets on the table for Cincinnati Bengals RB Joe Mixon on DraftKings Sportsbook ahead of the 2021 NFL season and make our picks.

995.5 rushing yards: Over (-130) or Under (+100)

Our pick: Over

Mixon rushed for more than 1,000 yards two seasons in a row before playing just six games in 2020 due to a foot injury. He will likely see the largest workload of his career this year and combining that possibility with an extra regular season game, there’s a very good chance Mixon reaches the 1,000-yard mark once again.

7.5 rushing TDs: Over (-110) or Under (-120)

Our pick: Over

The odds reflect there is much more of a chance Mixon will hit the over rushing yards total than reaching the rushing touchdown total and for good reason. Mixon has not been a huge touchdown scorer in his four-year career. In 50 games, he accumulated 20 rushing scores, and he went for more than five in just one season. Still, the number of touches Mixon should get leads to a good chance at a much greater touchdown total.

1325.5 rushing and receiving yards: Over (-115) or Under (-115)

Our pick: Over

Prior to the 2020 season, Mixon accumulated more than 1,400 total yards from scrimmage two consecutive seasons, and there’s a great chances he gets back to that type of success this season. Earlier this offseason, Cincinnati’s offensive coordinator Brian Callahan said he does not want Mixon to leave the field on third downs, which should lead to more yards over the course of the season.
