Soccer fans dreaming of an Argentina-Brazil final in Copa America 2021 have got their wish.

Argentina had to endure some tense moments against Colombia before ultimately winning 3-2 in penalty kicks after a 1-1 tie. Argentina was the favorite heading into the match coming off a 3-0 win over Ecuador, but Colombia made things tough and battled back.

Lautaro Martinez got the scoring started in the seventh minute and it looked like Argentina would cruise from there. Colombia got on the board in the second half as Luis Diaz found an opening down the side of the box before completing a ridiculous finish to level the score.

Both teams finished with four shots on target and Colombia actually took more attempts than Argentina (14-13). Lionel Messi struggled in the contest, but sank his penalty kick in a crucial moment to help the favorites reach the final.

Argentina will now meet Brazil in the final, a dream matchup for soccer fans. This rivalry of South American giants is well-known and the stakes are high. Brazil is looking to defend its Copa America crown while Argentina is looking for its first international trophy in the Messi era.

The two soccer heavyweights will meet Saturday, July 10 at 8 p.m. ET. Ecuador and Colombia will play in the third-place game Friday, July 9 at 8 p.m. ET.
