The Euro 2020 semifinals kick off Tuesday when Italy and Spain meet with a spot in the final on the line. This is a rematch of the 2012 Euro final, where Spain trounced Italy to capture a third consecutive major international trophy. This isn’t a typical Italy squad though and has won its last 13 international fixtures. Spain’s talent has come through after a slow start the competition, but the back line needs to be strong given Italy’s ability to score goals in bunches.
Italy vs. Spain
Time: 3 p.m. ET
TV channel: ESPN
Live stream: WatchESPN, ESPN+
Moneyline odds: Italy +145, Tie +220, Spain +210
Total goals: 2.5 (Over +125, Under -155)
Best Bet: Italy to advance (-135)
The Azzurri are showing why they were one of the favorites to win the competition entering the knockout round and while Spain is talented, it is not well equipped to handle Italy’s attack. Italy’s back line has been equally impressive with veteran defenders Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci keeping things intact. Pick the team in form to advance.
