Washington Nationals outfielder Kyle Schwarber is going to miss time with a “significant” hamstring strain, according to manager Dave Martinez. Schwarber was on fire in June, hitting .280 with 16 home runs and 30 RBIs. He has been placed on the 10-day IL.

It’s unclear exactly how much time Schwarber will miss, but expect the Nationals to use Gerardo Parra and Josh Harrison while the power hitter is out. Both are experienced hitters who can keep Washington in the division and postseason race. The Nationals are 2.5 games back of the New York Mets in the NL East.

Schwarber was making DFS players extremely happy in the last month. He scored 31 fantasy points in a recent win over the Mets. Parra and Harrison could be decent DFS options with Schwarber going down, but look for other options as the Nationals attempt to determine who will be the more regular player.

The Nationals were eight games under .500 entering June, but are now 40-40 due in large part to Schwarber’s performance.
