The 2021 NBA draft will take place Thursday, July 29 at 8:00 p.m. ET in Brooklyn, New York. The Detroit Pistons hold the No. 1 overall selection and have been expected to take Oklahoma State star Cade Cunningham, although recent reporting suggests the team is not completely sold on Cunningham. According to DraftKings Sportsbook, Cunningham is still the favorite to go No. 1 at -8000. Here’s a full look at the odds for the top selection.
NBA Draft odds for No. 1 overall pick
Cade Cunningham: -8000
Jalen Green: +1500
Evan Mobley: +2500
Jalen Suggs: +2500
Scottie Barnes: +10000
Jonathan Kuminga: +10000
James Bouknight: +15000
Franz Wagner: +40000
Josh Giddey: +50000
Jalen Johnson: +100000
Davion Mitchell: +100000
Corey Kispert: +100000
Keon Johnson: +100000
Moses Moody: +100000
The Pistons appear to be doing their best to conceal their intentions, with Marc Stein reporting the team was intrigued by Jalen Green after he had a strong workout. Adrian Wojnarowski reported the team is also looking at Evan Mobley. The Pistons are receiving offers for the No. 1 pick and are doing their due diligence, but haven’t officially made their intentions known yet.
Green and Mobley are interesting for prospective bettors with 15/1 and 25/1 odds, respectively. Given Detroit’s lack of a firm public commitment to Cunningham, there could be some value on Green and Mobley. Look for the lines to shift again ahead of the draft as new intel drops.
