Browns Super Bowl odds: What Cleveland needs to do to win Super Bowl 56

The Browns have +1600 odds to win Super Bowl 56 in February 2022. We break down what has to happen for Cleveland to take home the Lombardi Trophy.

The Cleveland Browns had their best season in two decades last year, earning their first playoff win since the early 1990s thanks to a resurgent offense under first-year head coach Kevin Stefanski. Though their season came to an end in the AFC Divisional round thanks to a loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, they still should have a solid opportunity to make noise in the AFC and have a potentially deep playoff run.

The team was aggressive in free agency, particularly boosting the defensive side of the ball. The team signed edge rusher Jadeveon Clowney, linebacker Anthony Walker Jr., and defensive backs John Johnson III and Troy Hill.

Cleveland Browns Super Bowl 56 odds: +1600

The Browns were built on offense last season, and it's no wonder why when you look at their roster. QB Baker Mayfield threw just eight interceptions all season and the team as a whole avoided coughing the ball up. They ended the season ranked as the 14th best offense in the NFL, and that was without one of their best pass-catchers after Odell Beckham Jr. was injured after seven games. When OBJ gets back, expect the offense to take off even more.

They did have issues on defense last year though but made a clear effort to bolster that unit this offseason. But they got better right away by bringing in Clowney to help the pass rush and Johnson and Hill from the Los Angeles Rams to help the defensive backfield. They also picked Greg Newsome II, a DB out of Northwestern, with their first round pick in the NFL Draft and he should be able to step in and contribute right away.

They have a big obstacle to overcome though, with another AFC contender, the Baltimore Ravens, playing in the North with them. Still, the +1600 odds for Cleveland to hoist the Lombardi are solid considering they looked like the only AFC team that could go toe-to-toe with KC in the playoffs last year.
