The New York Giants will be without RB Saquon Barkley for the start of training camp with the star being placed on the PUP list, according to Field Yates. Barkley, who is recovering from an ACL injury he suffered last season, can be activated at any point. He is expected to be ready for Week 1, but could be eased back into a full workload.

Barkley is a key component of New York’s offense, accounting for nearly 3,500 yards from scrimmage in his first two seasons. He only managed to play two games last year before suffering the season-ending ACL injury. According to DraftKings Sportsbook, Barkley is +1200 to lead the league in rushing yards and +1800 for most rushing touchdowns.

If Barkley cannot go Week 1, the Giants will turn to Devontae Booker and Corey Clement. They’ll be expecting Daniel Jones to take a big step forward and will put even more on his plate if Barkley is recovering slower than expected.
