The Gold Cup action continues on Monday as Group C gets underway with their first two games. Jamaica takes on debutants Suriname and Costa Rica will face off against Guadeloupe. Guadeloupe hasn’t played many games in the last couple of years, and even then the majority of them were in Nations League play that saw them win all four games, including a 10-0 blowout over Turks and Caicos. They made it through the Gold Cup preliminaries also, but their first true test will be against a team that’s exponentially better than any of the opponents they took on throughout the previous stretch. The Costa Ricans have been much more active and recently finished fourth in the Nations League competition after losing to Honduras in penalties in the third place match. Costa Rica almost already has this game in the bag as they’re favored at -770 and Guadeloupe isn’t expected to give Los Ticos much trouble at all.
