Italy have been on a tear this tournament, cruising through the group stage winning all three of their games and finishing top of the group. They continued on to defeat Austria in the Round of 16 2-1, followed by another narrow 2-1 victory over Belgium in the quarterfinal. It was even closer in the semifinal when they found themselves deadlocked 1-1 after 120 minutes of play, but they edged out Spain 5-4 in a penalty shootout to advance to the final. The Italians still showed just how good their team is even after losing Leonardo Spinazzola when he ruptured his Achilles tendon in the quarterfinal game against Belgium.
England had a similar journey, finishing at the top of their group, although they won two and drew one with Scotland, only finishing with seven points. Their two group stage wins were both 1-0 victories against Croatia and the Czech Republic, with Raheem Sterling scoring both goals — the only English player to get on the score sheet throughout the group stage. The Three Lions stunned Germany in the Round of 16 with Sterling and Harry Kane dropping late goals to down the Germans 2-0. They advanced to steamroll Ukraine 4-0 in the quarterfinal, then edged out Denmark 2-1 in the semifinal.
England is a -115 favorite to win the championship at DraftKings Sportsbook while Italy is a +100 underdog.
