The No. 1 seed Utah Jazz meet the No. 4 seed Los Angeles Clippers with one team rested and the other coming off a thrilling Game 7 win. The Clippers were on the short list of title contenders at the beginning of the season, but looked off at times in the opening round against the Mavericks. The Jazz dropped Game 1 against the Grizzlies, but looked like title contenders when star Donovan Mitchell returned to the floor.
Utah Jazz vs. Los Angeles Clippers series odds
Clippers: +105
Jazz: -130
The Jazz, when fully healthy, have not lost a playoff game in 2021. Mike Conley’s status is worth monitoring, but Donovan Mitchell seems healthy. Rudy Gobert provides an anchor defensively, but the Clippers have the best player on the floor in Leonard. The winner of this series will be favored to come out of the West.
Who will win the series?
It’s hard to say if the Clippers have figured things out after seven wild games. They looked lost at times against Dallas while also becoming the best team in the league in stretches. The Jazz are the more consistent group and have home-court advantage. Utah is favored to win the series and the Jazz are the pick unless a major injury occurs.
