The Sunday evening spectacle is a wrap and Floyd Mayweather and Logan Paul continue to find ways to make money in what can loosely be described as entertainment. Mayweather made $10 million just for showing up and will earn 50% of PPV revenue. Paul earned $250,000 plus 10% of PPV revenue. Add in all the advertising and ticket sales and both men are going to walk away a good deal richer.
But what about the other famous “fighter” on the card? Former NFL wide receiver Chad Johnson fought a four-round exhibition bout against MMA and bare-knuckle fighter Brian Maxwell to open the main card. Johnson looked not too bad through the first three rounds before hitting the deck in the fourth round. He got up and finished the round, but against a slightly more experienced boxer, the man once known as Ochocinco might have gone down earlier.
Whatever the case, he made some quick money for the fight. Johnson tweeted early Monday morning that he earned $1 million for the fight. Not too bad for a fight Mero of Desus and Mero fame described as “This is White Castle 4 a.m. vibes.”
Million dollars in 8 minutes, I can’t wait to celebrate tomorrow at McDonald’s #JeanUp
