Moneyline pick, best player prop for Cubs vs. Padres on Monday

In a rematch of a series last week, the Chicago Cubs are heading out to California to open up a series with the San Deigo Padres on Monday night.

The Cubs swept last week’s three games at Wrigley, so could there be more of the same today? We’ll explain below who we think you should pick on the money line and a player prop bet that has a solid chance of paying off.

Moneyline pick: Cubs +105

The Cubbies came out on top in all three games of last week’s affair in Chicago. These two pitchers, Adbert Alzolay for Chicago and Ryan Weathers for SD, appeared in the series as well.

While they didn’t pitch in the same game, Alzolay had much more success. He tossed five innings, allowing just three hits and one run while striking out seven. He’s also on a two-game win streak personally. Weathers on the other hand had a tough time against the North siders. He threw five innings as well but gave up seven hits and five runs while only ringing up two.

Chicago does struggle away from home, with a 12-16 record on the season. But they’re getting hot with 20 wins in their last 30 games overall.

Player Prop: Adbert Alzolay under 6.5 strikeouts (-113)

While he had a good outing against them last time with seven Ks, that’s not the norm for Alzolay. In his last seven games, he’s earned more than six strikeouts just twice. Overall on the season, he’s reached seven or more three times in ten appearances.
