Floyd Mayweather, Logan Paul weigh in as expected day before exhibition fight

Floyd Mayweather and Logan Paul weighed in on Saturday and the two fighters came in at their contractual limits. Not exactly a shock.

One more day, one less potential hitch to stop the exhibition fight between Floyd Mayweather and Logan Paul. The two fighters held their weigh-in on Saturday afternoon and Paul met the maximum that had been agreed to in the contract.

Mayweather weighed in at 155 pounds and Paul weighed in at 189.5 pounds. In other news, former NFL player Chad Johnson weighed in at 179.5 pounds and Brian Maxwell weighed in at 183.5 pounds for their exhibition fight.

In agreeing to this fight, Paul signed a contract that mandated he could not weigh more than 190 pounds. If he came in over 190, he would face a $100,000 fine for each pound over 190.

Given the exhibition nature of this and the insanity of the whole operation, it is entirely possible Paul weighed something other than 189.5. Nobody will care, but given the weight difference involved, it’s all notable. The whole set-up includes no judges and the fighters will wear 12 ounce gloves. No winner will be declared, although I’m sure the fighters themselves will have plenty to say when the fight is over.
