The second round of the 2021 NBA Playoffs is set to begin on Saturday, June 5th with Bucks vs. Nets in the Eastern Conference. Both the Denver Nuggets and Phoenix Suns were able to advance with Game 6 wins on Thursday night. The Nuggets didn’t allow Damian Lillard any chance at heroics again, ending Portland’s season. The Suns collected a second straight blowout win over the Los Angeles Lakers to eliminate the defending champions.
So now we’ll get the No. 2 Suns vs. the No. 3 Nuggets in the Western Conference semifinals. These two teams played tight games during the regular season, including a few OT games. Thing is that was when Jamal Murray was healthy for Denver. Without Murray, the Nuggets should have a tougher time dealing with a strong defensive team in the Suns. Phoenix will need Devin Booker to continue to fill it up while hoping Chris Paul’s shoulder stays intact.
