DraftKings will once again offer best ball leagues inside the app. You can check out the basic rules here. Best ball is different than your standard fantasy leagues in that you can’t make any roster moves after you draft. Right there is the impetus for all strategy, as we need to take into account different factors like the inability to replace your players if they get injured and the fact that only your highest scores at each position count toward your overall score and that there are no weekly matchups, as total points determine your final placement.

I’ve put together my drafting tiers for 1 PPR best ball leagues, which you can download in an Excel format or check out on Google docs below. .

Tiers are easily my favorite way to draft in fantasy football. Having each position individually laid out in their own columns and separated into tiers is a good way to see the whole board. And tiers allow you to see that there is wiggle room in rankings. You don’t have to be so strict that you blindly go with yours or someone else’s rankings. Instead, you can see that a group of players is considered to be in the same tier and that picking from that tier is perfectly acceptable. This game isn’t black and white and going with your gut at the time is always a good call, especially if your tiers tell you it isn’t a big reach.
