After a 14-point win for the Los Angeles Clippers in Game 5, they’ll return home in hopes of tying up the Western Conference Finals in Game 6 against the Phoenix Suns. Paul George has been a godsend for LA in Kawhi Leonard’s absence, but Devin Booker and Chris Paul will be looking to close out the series and book the Suns’ third trip to the NBA Finals. The game tips off at 9:00p.m. ET at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
Below is a look at a number of predictions ahead of Wednesday’s game for the Free $5K DraftKings Pools - Playoff Edition (PHX-LAC).
Suns vs. Clippers Game 6 pool picks
Which team will cover the spread? Suns -0.5 or Clippers +0.5
With the way this series has been going, I’m seeing the Clippers forcing a Game 7 especially with Game 6 in front of their home crowd. The Suns edged out LA at the Staples Center by four points in Game 4, but the Clippers took it back to them in Game 5 with a 14-point win, and I think they’ll get it done again to send the series into one last game in Phoenix. Clippers are the play for me here.
How many total points will be scored? Over/Under 214.5
Only two of the five games played so far have totaled over 214 points, as the rest of the games have been relatively low-scoring affairs. With how tense it should be in Los Angeles, under should be the safe bet.
Who will reach 15 points in the 1st Quarter first? Suns, Clippers or neither
Expect the Clippers to come out fired up as they often do, especially after their big Game 5 win. Even if the Suns level out and end up scoring more points in the first quarter, I’m taking the Clippers to get to 15 first.
Which team will make more 3-pointers? Suns or Clippers
The Clips have dropped more threes than the Suns in every game this series, so why go against the grain and pick the opposite? Clippers should be the play here.
Will both Deandre Ayton and Paul George record a double-double? Yes or no
They’ve each logged three double-doubles in this series, and Paul George has done it the last three games in a row while Ayton has pulled it off in the last two games straight. George is putting up some monster numbers with Kawhi Leonard out of the lineup, and Ayton will need to go big in hopes of closing out the series, so my best guess is that they’ll both log a double-double in Game 6.
Devin Booker points, rebounds and assists? Over/under 38.5
Booker, while lethal on offense, doesn’t always put up big numbers in the rebounds and assists columns. In fact, he’s only gone over a combined 38.5 once in this series, and that’s when he recorded his triple-double in Game 1. Under is the safe play.
Paul George points, rebounds and assists? Over/under 46.5
George, after logging double-doubles in his last three games straight, should have another huge game as he tries to keep the Clips alive and force a Game 7. He shouldn’t have much trouble combining for over 46.5.
Which team will win the 4th quarter? Suns or Clippers
The 4th quarter in each of these games have been extremely close, but the Clippers have won three to the Suns’ two. It will all be about who has the most endurance and can push until the very last seconds of the game, but I’d go with the Clippers tonight as they’ll be desperate to force one more game as the clock ticks down.
