Moneyline pick, best player prop for Giants vs. Angels on Wednesday

We go over some of the best betting options for Wednesday’s matchup between the San Francisco Giants and Los Angeles Angels.

MLB: San Francisco Giants at Pittsburgh Pirates Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

The San Francisco Giants and Los Angeles Angels might feature the best pitching matchup of the day on Wednesday, June 23rd. San Francisco will start Kevin Gausman on the mound with an 8-1 record and 1.51 ERA, while Shohei Ohtani will pitch for the Angels with a 3-1 record and 2.70 ERA. He also is tied for the league lead with 23 home runs at the plate. The Giants won 5-0 on Tuesday night as they look to close out the series with a win.

Giants vs. Angels, 4:07 p.m. ET

Moneyline pick: Angels -106

Oddsmakers project a very competitive matchup in this one, and we are going to go with the Angels as very slight underdogs. Having Ohtani on the mound and in the lineup is a huge advantage as Los Angeles looks to split the two-game series. The Angels have won each of the last three games he pitched in, and we’re betting he can do it for the fourth start in a row.

Player Prop: Kevin Gausman O6.5 strikeouts (-113)

The Giants’ starter failed to record more than 6.5 strikeouts in each of his last two starts, but that is not consistent to what he has done all season long. Prior to the previous two, Gausman struck out more than 6.5 batters in six consecutive games. Anthony Desclafani struck out nine Angels hitters on Tuesday night, and we’re betting Gausman will reach at least seven on Wednesday.
