Moneyline pick, best player prop for Dodgers vs. Padres on Tuesday

We go over some of the best betting options for Wednesday’s matchup between the LA Dodgers and San Diego Padres.

The Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres will continue their three-game series at 10:10 p.m. ET. Clayton Kershaw will be on the mound for the Dodgers, while the Padres will start Blake Snell. We’ll go over some ideal picks on DraftKings Sportsbook centered around the game here.

Dodgers vs. Padres, 10:00 p.m. ET

Moneyline pick: Dodgers -109

The Padres have been on a hot streak as of late with a five-game winning streak, which includes Monday night’s 6-2 win over the Dodgers. San Diego is averaging six runs per game and outscoring opponents by an average of three runs per game. Meanwhile, the Dodgers saw their three-game win streak come to an end.

But they should be able to get back into the win column and possibly snap the Padres’ 5-game win streak with Kershaw on the mound. The three-time Cy Young winner is 8-6 with an ERA of 3.36 in 15 starts this season. Kershaw’s ERA is higher on the road at 3.76, but he still has a 4-3 record. The Dodgers are 2-2 record in Kershaw’s last four road starts. But to his credit, he’s held opponents to a .234 batting average. Los Angeles is favored on the ML at -109 odds, but Padres starting pitcher Blake Snell could pose some problems for them.

Snell has been inconsistent throughout this entire season with a 2-3 record and 5.72 ERA in 14 starts. However, he’s been good at home with a 2-0 record, 1.65 ERA, and .160 opponents batting average. The key for Snell is consistency as he’ll have one good quality start, but will then take a step backwards. In April, Snell had two quality starts against the Dodgers, where he went at least 5.0 IP and recorded 7 strikeouts. But I do not see Los Angeles losing in this spot after only scoring two runs last night.

Player Prop: Clayton Kershaw over 6.5 strikeouts (-134)

If the Dodgers want to come away with the win on Tuesday night, it will fall on the arm of Kershaw. The southpaw has gone over 6.5 strikeouts in 9 out of 15 starts, which includes three straight games where he averaged 9 strikeouts. Kershaw faced the Padres earlier this season in back-to-back starts, recording 8 and 7 strikeouts. He’s facing a San Diego offense that is only averaging 8.35 strikeouts per game this season and 8.2 per game at home. Take the juice, its worth the squeeze here.
