The Philadelphia 76ers face elimination when they meet the Atlanta Hawks in Game 6 Friday. The Hawks have stormed back in two consecutive games to take a 3-2 lead back to Atlanta, stunning the 76ers by overcoming double-digit deficits in Games 4 and 5. Philadelphia will look to force Game 7.
Below is a look at a number of predictions ahead of Friday’s game for the Free $5K DraftKings Pools - Playoff Edition (PHI-ATL).
Sixers vs. Hawks Game 6 pool picks
Which team will cover the spread? Sixers -3.5 or Hawks +3.5
The Hawks have confidence right now, but keep in mind they aren’t blowing Philadelphia out. Atlanta has won its three games in the series by a combined 10 points. The 76ers have won both their games by 16 points each. If you believe Phillly is going to win, take the Sixers -3.5.
How many total points? Over/under 221.5
Games 1 and 3 have gone over this line, but the Sixers have struggled mightily putting up points late in the last two contests. Doc Rivers might stagger his stars to allow them to take the floor down the stretch more, but that’s no guarantee in solving Philly’s problems. The Hawks have struggled to hit the triple, shooting 30 and 34.6 percent in the last two games. Given all those variables, the under is more likely to hit.
Which team will reach 30 points first?
The Sixers should be the more desperate team, but the Hawks will feel like this is their best chance to win the series. Philadelphia hasn’t had trouble starting strong in games, making them the more likely team to reach 30 points first.
Which team will make more 3-pointers?
Philadelphia is shooting the ball better from deep, but the Hawks have volume going in their favor. The 76ers won this category in Games 2, 3, and 5. They are more likely to win this category in Game 6 due to efficiency, but Atlanta’s volume makes this a tough one.
Joel Embiid points and rebounds? Over/under 45.5
Embiid is averaging 32.0 points and 13.0 rebounds per game, which makes this a tough prop to gauge for bettors. The 76ers star is likely to take it upon himself to dominate in Game 6 and send the series back to Philly. Take the over on this one.
Tobias Harris points, rebounds and assists? Over/under 31.5
Harris has been a consistent presence in the series, combining for 27.6 points, rebounds and assists per game. Seth Curry has broken out, but Harris is still the more trusted second option given Ben Simmons’ struggles. The averages say take the under, but the over might be the play given what’s at stake for Philadelphia.
Trae Young points, rebounds and assists? Over/under 40.5
This line will come down to whether Young can grab a few rebounds. He’s averaging 29.6 points and 10.8 assists per game in the series, meaning the offensive numbers should be there again in Game 6. The over is the better bet.
Which team will win the 4th quarter?
After some disastrous second-half collapses in Games 4 and 5, there’s only two ways this game can go for Philadelphia. If you believe in the 76ers, take them to right the ship and win the final frame. If you think the third time will not be a charm, take the Hawks.
