Odds to win men’s water polo gold medal at Tokyo 2021 Olympics

The USA is a long shot to win their first medal in the sport since 2008.

While the United States will be competing for the 23rd time in men’s water polo at the Olympics, it’s a sport dominated by the old Eastern European block.

The former Iron Curtain nations of Hungary, Serbia, Croatia, and Montenegro are the favorites to take down the gold medal at the 2021 Games.

In the last world championships held in 2019, Italy knocked off Spain 10-5 to return to top of the medal stand. Every world champion in the history of the biennial event has been from Europe, and that has been the case in the World League as well. That even has been held every winter-to-summer since 2002, and Serbia has won six of the last seven World League titles. Montenegro so far is the only nation to break that streak with a win in 2018.

Here are the complete odds from DraftKings Sportsbook for who will win the men’s water polo gold medal at the 2021 Olympics in Tokyo.
