Bucks rout Nets in Game 6 104-89, force Game 7 Saturday

Khris Middleton broke out for 38 points and Giannis Antetokounmpo added 30 points and 17 rebounds as the Milwaukee Bucks stormed past the Brooklyn Nets in Game 6 to force Game 7. Kevin Durant led the Nets with 32 points and 11 rebounds but failed to deliver a win like he did in Game 5. He also had seven costly turnovers.

Milwaukee covered the spread at -5.5. The under hit at 219.5.

The Bucks jumped out to a 18-5 lead after Jrue Holiday’s three-pointer, but the Nets stormed back with seven quick points to cut the deficit to 18-12. The teams traded blows for much of the first half, but Milwaukee made a quick push at the end of the second quarter. Middleton hit back-to-back triples just before halftime to give the Bucks a 59-48 edge.

Durant started getting into a rhythm in the second half. He was the star for much of the third quarter and brought the Nets to within five points, but Middleton again closed strong with three quick buckets to put the Bucks up 11 going into the final frame.

The Nets made another run to cut the deficit to 82-77, but Middleton and Antetokounmpo led a massive charge resulting in a 14-2 run to open up a 96-79 lead. The Bucks would not relinquish that advantage the rest of the way.

James Harden was substantially better in Game 6 for the Nets as he continues to work his way back from a hamstring injury. The guard scored 16 points, dished out seven assists and got four steals. The Nets will hope he is closer to full strength for the last game of the series. Holiday was great for the Bucks as a third option, netting 21 points.

Game 7 is Saturday in Brooklyn.
