The Atlanta Hawks took control of their second-round series against the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday by securing a late-game comeback. The Hawks secured a 109-106 victory at the Wells Fargo center and fought off a dominant bounce-back game from Joel Embiid by counting on the explosive scoring of Trae Young. Atlanta leads the series 3-2.
Embiid recovered from his 0-for-12 in Game 4 and scored a team-high 37 points in 39 minutes to go along with 13 rebounds. Seth Curry provided plenty of support by scoring a barrage of threes to a playoff career-high 36 points. The two Sixers finished with 72.75 and 51.75 DKFP, respectively. Their offensive brilliance wasn’t enough to hold onto the 22-point lead Philly held at halftime, though.
No Sixer not named Embiid or Curry made a basket in the second half.
I can’t really believe what I’m seeing: Joel Embiid and Seth Curry were the only Sixers to make a basket in the second half. pic.twitter.com/2c5yijUn5r

Young rebounded from a poor Game 4 shooting night and tallied a game-high 39 points on 10-of-12 shooting. The star point guard dished out seven assists, nabbed a trio of steals, and got tons of help from John Collins, who racked up 19 points and 11 rebounds in his second straight double-double. Young finished with 56.75 DKFP while collins notched 40.75 in the Hawks win.
Atlanta covered the spread as a 6.5-point road underdog, and the game fell short of the 223.5 point total at DraftKings Sportsbook. Despite appearing to be down and out for most of the contest, the Hawks were able to pull off their largest playoff comeback in franchise history. It was the fourth-biggest playoff comeback of all time and the Sixers’ largest blown playoff lead in franchise history.
Here’s a look at how Atlanta’s odds to win changed throughout the game.
