Day three of the 2020 UEFA Euros gets underway on Sunday, June 13th with three matches consisting of teams from groups C and D. The action kicks off at 9:00 a.m. ET with England taking on Croatia (Group D), followed up by Group C matches Austria vs. North Macedonia and Netherlands vs. Ukraine. There are plenty of players to watch between these teams, so let’s look into some of the most entertaining players to keep an eye on for day three.

England is loaded with fantastic players with the likes of Raheem Sterling, Marcus Rashford, Jordan Pickford, and Kyle Walker just to name a few. Of course, if you’re going to pick just one from the entire squad, look no further than the 2018 World Cup Golden Boot winner Harry Kane. The 27-year-old Tottenham Hotspur striker has been a staple in the English Premier League for years, amassing 166 goals for the Spurs through 242 appearances. He’s been featuring for England’s national team since 2015 and has put in 34 goals through just 54 caps. In 2018, he took home the World Cup Golden Boot honors as he finished the tournament with six goals. He’s one of the best center forwards anywhere in the world and will look to continue his scoring dominance heading into the 2020 Euros.

On the other side of Sunday’s opening match, look for Real Madrid star Luka Modric to come in as Croatia’s key player. The storied 35-year-old midfielder will continue to be Croatia’s best player and command a leadership role on the field. He’s the most-capped player in Croatian history with 138, recently passing up Darijo Srna who ended his career with 134. Modric comes into the competition in fantastic form and will look to lead the Croatians through to the knockout rounds.

While Netherlands aren’t quite the powerhouse they once were — and they’ll have a huge hole in their defense with Virgil van Dijk being ruled out due to injury — they still have a wealth of talented players including midfielder Frenkie de Jong. The 24-year-old is a veritable jack of all trades in the midfield, able to play a defensive, attacking, or box-to-box position seamlessly. His international career is still just getting started, making 27 caps since he was first called up in 2018. He’s been a staple in the midfield at Barcelona since they signed him from Ajax in 2019, and will provide plenty of entertainment on the field in Group D play.

While England and Croatia could go either way — Croatia has a history of upsetting favored teams — Austria should be a safe and easy bet against underdogs North Macedonia. The Austrians aren’t favored to win the tournament by any means, and may not even make it out of the group depending on how Ukraine does, but they should have an easy time taking down the 62nd-ranked North Macedonians who are making their first-ever appearance in the UEFA Euro competition. Led by David Alaba and Marcel Sabitzer, both mainstays in the Bundesliga, Austria should be the play here if you’re looking for a safe bet.
