Italy and Turkey kick off Euro 2020 in Group A with the Azzurri coming in as group favorites. Turkey and Switzerland will look to contend for a knockout round spot, while Wales hopes Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey can work some magic in the competition.

Italy is -200 to win the group, according to DraftKings Sportsbook. Switzerland is +100 to finish in the top two, with Turkey slightly behind at +133. Wales, despite some familiar names, is +250 to finish top two. Because of the Euro format, whichever team finishes in third can still have a shot at the knockout round if they do better than at least two other group’s third-place teams.

Here are the standings and upcoming schedule for Group A at Euro 2020.

Group A standings

  1. Italy, 3-0-0, 9 points — clinched berth in knockout stage
  2. Wales, 1-1-1, 4 points — clinched berth in knockout stage
  3. Switzerland, 1-1-1, 4 points
  4. Turkey, 0-2-0, 0 points

Group A schedule (all times ET)

Italy 3, Turkey 0

  • Italy won the first game of Euro 2020 thanks to a trio of second half goals, with one coming on a huge Turkish mistake. After a scoreless first half, Italy got on the board when Merih Demiral scored an own goal in the 53rd minute. Ciro Immobile added a second goal on a right footed shot from the center of the box to the bottom right corner. Lorenzo Insigne scored the final goal, on right footed shot from the left side of the box to the bottom right corner, set up by Immobile.

Wales 1, Switzerland 1

  • Wales striker Kieffer Moore scored a goal in the 74th minute to secure a draw and one point against the favored Swiss. Breel Embolo put Switzerland on the board in the 49th minute.

Wales 2, Turkey 0

  • Turkey held the edge in possession (56-44) but Wales was the only side to convert. Aaron Ramsey scored the first goal in the 42nd minute on a right footed shot from the center of the box, assisted by Gareth Bale. Bale missed a penalty shot in the 61st minute, but Wales added a goal in the fifth minute of extra time at the end of the match.

Italy 3, Switzerland 0

  • Switzerland managed to slightly control possession 51-49, but Italy dominated its chances. Manuel Locatelli got Italy on the board in the 26th minute and added a second goal in the 52nd minute, and Ciro Immobile put it away in the 89th minute with a goal. Italy clinched a berth in the knockout stage with the win.

Italy 1, Wales 0

  • Italy completes a perfect group stage with a 1-0 win over Wales courtesy of Matteo Pessina’s goal. Wales went down to 10 men in the 55th minute, but managed to prevent Italy from scoring more goals which could’ve put their path to the knockout stage in peril. Both teams qualify for the next round with this result.

Switzerland 3, Turkey 1

  • Xherdan Shaqiri scored twice as Switzerland kept its hopes for advancing to the knockout round alive. The Swiss didn’t have the necessary goal differential to top Wales, but they’re in a good position among the third-place finishers in each group. Turkey flames out of the competition after a successful Euro qualifying campaign, losing all three matches.
