We go over some of the best betting options for Friday’s matchup between the St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago Cubs.

The St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago Cubs will begin a three-game series at 2:20 p.m. ET. Johan Oviedo will be on the mound for the Cardinals, while the Cubs haven’t announced who will be starting for them. We’ll go over some ideal picks on DraftKings Sportsbook centered around the game here.

Cardinals vs. Cubs, 2:20 p.m. ET, ESPN+

Moneyline pick: Cubs -137

The last time these two teams played each other at Busch Stadium last month, the Cubs quickly disposed of the Cardinals, winning 2 out of 3. The Cardinals will look to get back into the win column after losing 6 out of their last 7 games. Rookie pitcher Johan Oviedo will have the tall task of task of trying to stop Chicago. Oviedo is 0-2 with a 5.25 ERA in 5 starts this season. The 23-year-old has not fared well on the road, with a 7.11 ERA and .292 opponent batting average. He has only gone past 5.0 IP once this season, which happened on April 28 against the Phillies.

Chicago should be able to beat up on Oviedo as they’ve won 3 out of their last five games, which includes winning 2 out of 3 on the road against the San Diego Padres. The Cubbies will turn the ball over to Kohl Stewart, who is only making his third start this season. The 26-year-old got roughed up in his last outing against San Diego — 3.2 IP, 7 hits, 3 earned runs, 2 walks, 5 strikeouts.

I believe the Cubs are the better pick here as I just trust their offense and pitching more than I do the Cardinals right now. Also, the Chicago is a great home team with a record of 21-10 this season.

Player Prop: TBD player props for neither team has been posted yet.
