We’ve got seven games on the schedule for Saturday, May 8th, and there are plenty of big names on the injury report. Here we’ll monitor all the latest injury news with some analysis and how to approach the injury for DFS and fantasy basketball.

NBA Injury Report: Saturday, May 8th

Joel Embiid, C, Philadelphia 76ers

Update: Embiid will start, but Simmons and Curry have been ruled out.

Embiid (knee) put together a masterful performance against the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday but is questionable for his team’s Saturday matchup against the lowly Detroit Pistons. The Sixers sit atop the Eastern Conference and want their star fresh for the postseason. Ben Simmons (back) and Seth Curry (hip) are questionable, while Furkan Korkmaz (ankle) is out. Several Philly role-players could need to step up.

Tobias Harris ($7,100) and Dwight Howard ($4,000) have the most to gain from Simmons and Embiid being ruled out, but Shake Milton ($4,200) could also take on more ball-handling responsibilities.

Malcolm Brogdon, PG, Indiana Pacers

Brogdon (hamstring) is set to miss a fifth straight game, and Jeremy Lamb (knee) will join him. Domantas Sabonis ($10,500) and Caris LeVert ($9,100) should continue to handle most of the work on offense, and Edmond Sumner ($4,200) has a chance to contribute more than usual on the wing.

Jaren Jackson, PF, Memphis Grizzlies

Jackson has been limited since returning to action late in April and is set to make his first start of the season against the Raptors on Saturday. He’s averaging 15.3 points and 5.8 rebounds per game on just 22 minutes per contest, but his workload could get ramped up ahead of the postseason.

Detroit Pistons injury report

Update: Joseph and Ellington are active and will start.

The Pistons are still very shorthanded with Hamidou Diallo (personal), Josh Jackson (tooth), and Dennis Smith Jr. (knee) out. Jerami Grant (knee), Wayne Ellington (calf), and Cory Joseph (ankle) are questionable. Saddiq Bey ($6,800) is pricey but should be free to run the show on offense if he wants to. Mason Plumlee ($6,300) is back to absorb some center minutes for the first time this month.

Toronto Raptors injury report

Toronto won’t have either member of its starting backcourt, as Kyle Lowry (rest) and Fred VanVleet (hip) have been ruled out. OG Anunoby (calf) is set to miss a fourth straight game. Gary Trent Jr. ($5,500) and Malachi Flynn ($4,700) are poised to step into bigger roles to support Pascal Siakam ($9,000) against the Memphis Grizzlies.
