The Pacers (30-35) will play host to the fifth-place Atlanta Hawks (37-30) in hopes of snapping their two-game losing skid. The Hawks are fresh off their third-straight win in the form of a 32-point blowout over the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday night. It was a team effort as nobody from Atlanta scored more than 20, but seven players got into double digits with Clint Capela leading the way with 18 points and 10 rebounds. The Pacers, on the other hand, just dropped their second straight game with a 104-93 loss to the Sacramento Kings at home, while barely staying afloat in the play-in picture.
Indiana Pacers vs. Atlanta Hawks, 8:00p.m. ET
Pick ATS: Hawks -6
It’s no surprise that the Hawks are favored to win this one, even on the road. They haven’t won by less than six points since April 13 when they edged out the Raptors 108-103. Since then, sure they’ve lost plenty, but their wins have been commanding to say the least, especially after their late-game domination over red-hot Phoenix. The Pacers will be without Myles Turner (toe), who has been sidelined since mid-April, while Malcolm Brogdon (hamstring) has been out for three straight games and is listed as questionable ahead of tonight’s contest. It would take a big night from guys like Domantas Sabonis and Caris LeVert if the Pacers want a shot at beating the Hawks, much less cover the spread.
Player Prop: John Collins under 15.5 points (-113)
With about two hours until game time, this player prop is sitting at even money (-113) on both the over and under 15.5 points. That being said, which option is the better play? We saw the under. This season, Collins is averaging 17.5 points on 55.3% shooting from the field and 38.4% from three-point range. The 23-year-old forward has gone under 15.5 points in four out of the Hawks’ last five games. Furthermore, he has only gone over 15.5 points in four out of their last 10 games. The two times the Hawks have played the Pacers this season, he scored 18 and 8 points respectively.
