Rookie wide receiver dynasty rankings for 2021 fantasy football

We rank top rookie wide receivers for dynasty leagues in 2021.

Will Ja’Marr Chase be the WR that Joe Burrow needs?

The NFL Draft is officially in the books and players have been sorted into their respective houses. It’s now time to take a look at those draftees and where they fall in the rookie rankings. This was a good year for wide receivers, but evaluations are all over the board. If you like a receiver, there’s a real chance your league mates won’t like him as much as you do. Of course the top three guys are ahead of the pack enough to be the first three picked, but after that it’s a bit of a free-for-all.

Ja’Marr Chase, DeVonta Smith and Jaylen Waddle are considered the best three receivers in the draft. That’s the order I’ve had them in from the start and their new teams haven’t changed that.

Deciding to take a top wide receiver versus a top running back has a lot to do with where your dynasty team is in terms of talent. I just did a draft and chose Najee Harris over the top receivers because I needed running back help and I felt like I was close to fielding a team that can compete for a championship soon. In the long run, Chase has a better shot at more productive seasons than Harris, who is 23-years old and at a position that knocks years off careers.

After the Top 3 receivers, you’re going to see a lot of variance across rankings. I like Elijah Moore to be able to make a quick impact as a Jet. His playmaking, plus ability underneath should get him the ball as Zach Wilson looks for a go-to receiver. It would help if Jamison Crowder were released, but even if he isn’t, we know this is likely his last season with the team.

I love Terrace Marshall’s upside and the Panthers offense with Joe Brady as offensive coordinator is great. Yes, Sam Darnold is as iffy as they come, but he can make the throws and will be in a better spot now. He can throw interceptions and still be a good of quarterback to help Marshall get fantasy points.

Rondale Moore and Rashod Bateman are up there with E. Moore and Marshall. Rondale Moore is a high-upside play, but I’ve also seen receivers I like languish in Arizona. And Bateman is on a Ravens team that loves to play defense and run the ball. But, the opportunity to build a strong connection and become his top wide receiver target is there.
