Odds to win the Atlantic Coast Conference in 2021

If you think someone else besides Clemson can take home the trophy, oddsmakers will give you an extremely good price.

The ACC is projected to be as lopsided as ever in 2021, as oddsmakers have installed the Clemson Tigers as the overwhelming favorite to win their seventh-straight Atlantic Coast Conference Championship Game.

Dabo Swinney, DJ Uiagalelei, and the rest of “little ol’ Clemson” are a semi-preposterous -835 to give their trophy case septuplets. Their roster has more five-stars than all of Hilton and Marriott’s combined properties, they haven’t really been challenged. And with Notre Dame back to being an independent, there’s one less legitimate challenger to the throne. And even the Irish were easily dispatched 34-10 last season.

For bettors trying to find value, there might be some in the North Carolina Tar Heels at +700. Sam Howell and company improved as the 2020 season continued, showed flashes of being one of the better teams in all of college football, and return a ton of experience on both the offensive and defensive lines. They’ll need to find some skill position players to replace Javonte Williams and Michael Carter, but should have the roster to make a run to the Coastal Division title.

Their biggest hurdle for that division title will be the Miami Hurricanes of D’Eriq King and Manny Diaz, booked at 10-1 as of now. King might be the first quarterback in NCAA history to have played a game in six consecutive seasons, and with skill talent like Cam’Ron Harris and Will Mallory available he’ll have plenty of weapons. The question for the ‘Canes is can they replace the talent on defense, with players such as Greg Rousseau, Jaelan Phillips, and Quincy Roche now in the NFL.

The Hurricanes and Heels will play October 16th in Chapel Hill, and might be the key matchup for determining Clemson’s opponent in Charlotte on December 4th in the title game.
