Moneyline pick, best player prop for Pirates vs. Royals on Monday

We go over some of the best betting options for Monday’s matchup between the Pittsburgh Pirates and Kansas City Royals.

MLB: Kansas City Royals at Tampa Bay Rays Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

The Memorial Day slate of baseball finishes off for the national audience tonight as the Kansas City Royals welcome in the Pittsburgh Pirates at 8:00 p.m. on ESPN.

Pirates vs. Royals, 8:00 p.m. ET, ESPN

Moneyline pick: Royals (-190)

The Pirates got off to a good start this season, but they’ve fallen fast, winning just nine of their last 30 games and firmly sit in the basement of the NL Central standings. KC on the other hand is decent, winning six of their last 10 games.

The Royals don’t have the best offense in the world, but Pittsburgh is tossing Chad Kuhl on the bump. He’s had a rough go of it this season, with an ERA sitting north of 6 through four appearances. He’s never made it longer than five innings in a game and has only made it to the fifth inning once. KC should be able to take advantage of the struggling pitcher.

Player Prop: Andrew Benintendi over 0.5 hits (-200)

The former Red Sox star has had a solid last week and a half. He’s gotten nine hits in as many games and hasn’t had two hitless games in the span of three in over a month. He just went hitless on Saturday and we don’t expect him to go 0-for again today.
