With a loaded slate of games on Memorial Day, there are plenty of options to make some money playing DFS.
Sometimes with a plus-matchup on the MLB game slate, we get an opportunity to slot multiple players from the same team into our DFS lineups. You can learn more about MLB DFS strategy, including team stacks, here.
Here, we’ll break down three of the best team stacks for the MLB slate on Monday, May 31st.
Kansas City Royals vs. Pittsburgh Pirates, 8:10 p.m. EST
Whit Merrifield ($5,100)
Carlos Santana ($4,100)
Andrew Benintendi ($3,300)
This is a game where you can get a lot of bang for your buck. Outside of Merrifield, most of the guys in KC’s lineup are pretty cheap in terms of DFS. They’re not normally going to rack up tons of points, but against Pittsburgh starting pitcher Chad Kuhl, there’s a good chance they do. His ERA is way up over 6 in his four appearances this season. He also faced the Royals last season and gave up nine runs in just 2.1 innings.
Chicago White Sox vs Cleveland, 3:10 p.m. EST
Tim Anderson ($5,000)
Nick Madrigal ($4,300)
Yoan Moncada ($5,700)
Jose Abreu ($6,000)
The caveat with this game is that it’s game one of a doubleheader, meaning fewer at-bats and also the lineup may shift around a bit to stay fresh for 14 innings instead of just nine. However, the White Sox have one of the hottest offenses in baseball, scoring 258 runs on the year while boasting a team average near .260. They’ll face Cleveland rookie Triston McKenzie, who has given up 11 earned runs in his last two appearances.
Oakland A’s vs. Seattle Mariners, 4:10 p.m. EST
Matt Chapman ($5,000)
Jed Lowrie ($3,800)
Matt Olson ($4,700)
This is another instance where you can get good value out of your stack. The A’s don’t boast one of the greatest offense in the league. Far from it, actually. However, they’re efficient and will be seeing a favorable matchup today. The Mariners will be sending rookie Logan Gilbert to the hill for just his fourth MLB appearance. He’s labored in his first three, tossing just 10 innings and giving up nine earned runs and allowing an opponent batting average near .300.
