Where will Aaron Rodgers play in 2021?

We look at the odds for where Aaron Rodgers will play next season.

Are Aaron Rodgers days in Green Bay numbered?

If you are a Green Bay Packers fan, this isn’t the post you want to see, but here we are. Aaron Rodgers isn’t happy and at this point in his career, he appears to be ready to force the issue. Multiple reports have Rodgers disgruntled employee number one in the NFL. Either his contract, respect, or other options, like becoming the new Jeopardy host, have Rodgers airing his grievances and that means his 2021 season as the Packers starting quarterback isn’t written in stone.

DraftKings Sportsbook has the odds for which team Rodgers will lead in the 2021 season. Odds are available in Colorado and West Virginia.

Favorite

Green Bay Packers -125

Could all this drama just be about getting an extension? Sure, it could. He likely feels disrespected that the team drafted a quarterback in the first round in 2020, especially when the team needed a better No. 2 receiver and had been to the playoffs the previous season. And if it is true that he wasn’t told about the pick beforehand, I expect he needs the organization to admit they screwed up and give him an apology in the form of cold hard cash. If this whole thing is fixed by a contract, that’s what will happen.

Favorite, non-Packers category

Denver Broncos +200

Reports have the Broncos as a possible landing spot for Rodgers and there has been a lot of smoke in the media around that possibility. It makes sense, as the Broncos have a good young set of receivers in Courtland Sutton, Jerry Jeudy, K.J. Hamler, and Noah Fant. And they have been in the market for a new quarterback, as Drew Lock and Teddy Bridgewater aren’t primed for a Super Bowl run. Denver also takes Rodgers out of the NFC, which would likely be a preference for the Packers if it comes down to a trade.

Longshot

Atlanta Falcons +6600

I don’t really like any of the longshots, so this is more of a stab in the dark than anything. I could see Rodgers wanting to go to a new team that has never won a Super Bowl and getting the job done for them. And the Falcons have Julio Jones, Calvin Ridley and now Kyle Pitts. They’re willing to air it out a ton, play in a dome instead of the tundra and maybe, maybe the Packers would take Matt Ryan as their bridge quarterback to Jordan Love or another draft pick next season.
