The NASCAR Cup Series is headed to South Carolina this week for the 2021 Goodyear 400 race at the Darlington Raceway. It will be preceded by the Camping World Truck Series and Xfinity Series races on Friday and Saturday, respectively. The Goodyear 400 starts Sunday, May 9th at 3:30 p.m. and will be broadcast on FS1. The race will run for 293 laps, which is equal to 400.2 miles.
After a long hiatus from the 2005 to 2019 season, it was announced in 2020 that NASCAR would grant Darlington a second permanent slot in the Cup Series Schedule. Kyle Larson is favored to win with odds at +550, closely followed by Denny Hamlin at +600 and Kevin Harvick at +700. Kyle Busch, the winner of last week’s Buschy McBusch 400, sits at +800. In the 2020 NASCAR season, there were two events held in Darlington on May 17 and May 20th, won by Kevin Harvick and Denny Hamlin, respectively.
