The San Francisco Giants finally got their first win over the Dodgers this season, winning 8-5 in extra innings on Friday night. San Fran almost lost in the ninth inning, but outfielder Mike Tauchman saved the day, robbing Albert Pujols of a solo HR. The Giants will try to make it two wins in a row with Webb on the mound. The 24-year-old is 3-3 with a 4.09 ERA and is back on the mound for the first time since May 17. He missed his last start because of a right shoulder strain.
Webb has not fared well on the road this season (1-3, 5.76 ERA), which is great news for the Dodgers, who last lost two consecutive games back on May 5-7. Los Angeles is a heavy ML favorite in tonight’s game with -200 odds. And I think that is best play, especially with Urias on the mound, who has been tremendous recently. The 24-year-old is 3-0 with a 1.83 ERA in his last three starts, which includes a win over the Giants. In that game, Urias only gave up 3 hits (1 HR), 2 earned runs, but had 10 strikeouts in 6.0 IP. Also, when the young pitcher sees a team for the second time this season, he has a record of 2-0.
