We’re back with the second weekend installment of the 2021 NBA Playoffs. Friday gave us a few bounce-back wins for two teams down 2-0 — the Los Angeles Clippers and Boston Celtics. The Atlanta Hawks took a 2-1 series lead with a win at home against the New York Knicks. Now we’ve got four games on the schedule all day long for Saturday, which is always fun.
The Milwaukee Bucks have a few injuries to note before we get into their potential series-clinching win today. Donte DiVincenzo is sidelined for the rest of the postseason with tendon damage in his left foot. Giannis Antetokounmpo has a groin issue but is listed as probable. The Heat are on their last life and we could see a lot of pushback from Jimmy Butler and crew. The Bucks are only 4.5 point favorites on the road for Game 4.
The Denver Nuggets made it 2-1 in their series vs. the Portland Trail Blazers with a close road win 120-115 on Thursday night. Austin Rivers showed up big time filling in as a starter, scoring 21 points. Nikola Jokic had 36 points and the 3-point shooting was the difference with Denver shooting over 50 percent from downtown. The Nuggets are getting 5 points on the spread despite being up 2-1 in the series and coming off a 5-point win in Game 3.
The Philadelphia 76ers will look to take a 3-0 series lead over the Washington Wizards, who may be without Russell Westbrook. Russ injured his ankle in Game 2 and is questionable to play. The Sixers are only 6.5 point favorites to win on the road and the Wiz may be without Westbrook, which seems like a favorable spot.
The Utah Jazz got back on track with a win in Game 2 thanks to the return of Donovan Mitchell from an ankle sprain. Ja Morant did give Utah a scare, dropping a career-high 47 points to almost lead the Memphis Grizzlies to a comeback win. Mitchell had 25 in his return to the lineup and very little defense was played by either side. On the road, Utah is 5.5 point favorites.
