If you keep reading, we’ll let you know who we think you should bet on for the moneyline as well as a player prop that we think has a solid chance to cash out.
Moneyline pick: Padres -103
San Diego comes into this one red hot as winners of eight of their last 10 games and Houston is 5-5 in the same span. These two teams haven’t played each other yet this season, so there’s no history to go off of. To make matters even more up in the air, the Astros are projected to put Framber Valdez on the bump. This will be his first appearance of the season and just his 46th MLB appearance ever. The Padres stacked lineup could be ready to take advantage of that inexperience.
San Diego is tossing Dinelson Lamet on the hill. He’s never faced the Astros as a starter before in his career either. Though after a shaky start, his team has won the previous three games he’s pitched in and has allowed just two earned runs this season in five outings. He’ll have his hands full against a Houston lineup that’s averaging 5.2 runs per game this season, which is one of the best in baseball. Still, he has the experience this season, so we’re going to roll with Lamet and the Padres in what should be a good game.
Player Prop: TBD
