The PGA Tour is headed to back down to Texas this week after an exciting 2021 PGA Championship, where Phil Mickelson was crowned the oldest man to win a men’s major at the age of 50. The Charles Schwab Challenge — also known as the Colonial National Invitation — tees off Thursday morning at the Colonial National Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas.
A year ago, this was the first tournament the PGA Tour played after its restart during the COVID-19 pandemic. Daniel Berger won the tournament on the first hole of playoff with Collin Morikawa. This year, Jordan Spieth (+1050) enters as the favorite at DraftKings Sportsbook and he’s followed by Justin Thomas (+1300), Collin Morikawa (+1500), and Abraham Ancer, Tony Finau, and Patrick Reed (all at +1700). The defending champ Berger is right behind them at +1900.
The tournament gets underway on Thursday with tee times starting at 8:10 a.m. ET. Golf Channel will air first round coverage from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. ET. PGA Tour LIVE will offer a live stream from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. focused on the featured groups.
