Breaking down the weather forecast for the Indy 500

Weather is always a factor for NASCAR races, so here’s what’s projected for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway this week.

It is a big Memorial Day weekend in motorsports as the 2021 Indianapolis 500 is set to run Sunday at 12:45 p.m. ET at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. It will be the 105th running of this historic run. The race will air on NBC, NBC Sports Network, and via live stream on Peacock.

Takuma Sato won the Indy 500 last year for the second time in his career. His first win happened in 2017. This year, pole-sitter Scott Dixon is the favorite at DraftKings Sportsbook. He is installed at +350 a year removed from a second-place finish and having led a race-high 111 laps. Colton Herta is second in odds at +700, with Patricio O’Ward third. Sato is installed at +2000 to repeat as champ.
