The St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago White Sox will finish their three-game series at 2:10 p.m. ET. John Gant will be on the mound for the Cardinals, while Carlos Rodon will start for the White Sox. We’ll go over some ideal picks on DraftKings Sportsbook centered around the game here.
Cardinals vs. White Sox, 2:10 p.m. ET
Moneyline pick: White Sox -200
The Cardinals will look to the salvage the last game of this three-game set after losing 8-3 to the White Sox on Tuesday night. St. Louis lost the first two games by an average of 4.5 runs per game and has lost three straight games. However, it’s tough to see that happening with Carlos Rodon on the mound.
Do not be scared of the fact that the White Sox are an enormous favorite on the moneyline at -210. Rodon has been one of the best pitchers in baseball this season. He is coming off a great outing against the Yankees, where he recorded 13 strikeouts and only allowed 2 hits in 6.0 IP. This season, he has a record of 5-1 and 1.27 ERA through seven starts and is a sleeper candidate for the AL Cy Young award. Furthermore, Rodon has been good in three starts at home, which is what you do not want to hear if you are Cardinals fan. He is 2-1 with an ERA of 2.18, along with a 10.5 K/9 and has allowed four walks in 20.2 IP.
The Cardinals have only been swept once this season and that was against the San Diego Padres earlier this month. It’s going to happen again but this time by the hands of the White Sox and the arm of Rodon. Lay the juice on the money line and enjoy this early afternoon contest.
Player Prop: Carlos Rodon over 7.5 strikeouts (-121)
Rodon has been one of the best pitchers in baseball this season and we should not expect that to stop on Wednesday. If you do not feel like playing the White Sox ML at its price, then the next best option is Rodon’s strikeout prop. He has gone over 7.5 strikeouts in five out of seven starts this season. The former first-round pick has been masterful on the mound and should be able to pick up some strikeouts against a Cardinals’ lineup that is only averaging 8.19 strikeouts per game this season.
