Update May 26, 3:15 p.m. We’ve gone even further down the rabbit hole here as these two have taken to social media in advance of The Match IV, where DeChambeau will pair with Aaron Rodgers against Phil Mickelson and Tom Brady in a made-for-tv event.
@BKoepka It’s nice to be living rent free in your head!

The rivalry between Brooks Koepka and Bryson DeChambeau on the course we knew about. We also heard things about something off the course as well.
But never has it been more tangible than this.
The disdain he has for Bryson is the best thing going in golf these days. pic.twitter.com/1bwMkUx0iy

That’s the SMU grad, wearing metal spikes and walking behind Koepka mid-interview after one of his rounds at the PGA Championship this weekend. Metal spikes are bad enough (seriously, they’re bad for the game and the course), but maybe it’s something Bryson says as well that invokes this kind of ire in Koepka?
If it is the shoes, of course Bryson has an answer for that as well, noting that the Rules of Golf were changed in 2019 to allow spike marks to be fixed on the green when in the line of a player’s putt.

But this leaked video, and yeah someone at the Golf Channel probably needs to get fired for this, shows how the dislike is a real part of what’s happening at the top of the PGA Tour right now. And for the four-time major winner Koepka, who also fought through a knee injury all weekend, having to deal with the awkwardness of Bryson is just a bit too much clearly.
So, USGA: You’re for sure pairing these guys up at Torrey Pines in a few weeks, right?
