The 2021 NBA playoffs officially kick off with a juicy four-game set featuring two rematches from last season’s Orlando bubble, the favorite to lift the NBA championship and the league’s MVP frontrunner.
Sometimes with a plus-matchup on the NBA game slate, we get an opportunity to slot multiple players from the same team into our DFS lineups. You can read more about the concept of stacking here, but the main goal is to take advantage of this plus-matchup and use the salary cap to your advantage.
Here, we’ll break down three of the best team stacks on Saturday, May 22 for the 2021 NBA playoff game slate at DraftKings.
Denver Nuggets vs. Portland Trail Blazers, 10:30 PM ET
Michael Porter Jr., $8,200
Aaron Gordon, $5,000
Paul Millsap, $3,600
The Nuggets are without Jamal Murray, but head into a playoff series with confidence after going 13-5 since the star guard went down. Porter Jr., Gordon and Millsap will have the chance to make a huge impact on this game with Nikola Jokic commanding a majority of Portland’s attention. At those price points, these three players could provide tremendous value in a favorable matchup.
Brooklyn Nets vs. Boston Celtics, 8:00 PM ET
Blake Griffin, $4,400
Kevin Durant, $9,700
Joe Harris, $4,700
This will be Durant’s first playoff game with the Nets and it’s at home. He’s going to come out firing. Griffin and Harris might not see many touches, but Boston’s defense will be focused on containing Durant, James Harden and Kyrie Irving. Griffin should see enough action in the paint while Harris will get opportunities to convert open shots from the perimeter. The value is there in what should be a high-scoring contest.
Los Angeles Clippers vs. Dallas Mavericks, 4:30 PM ET
Kawhi Leonard, $8,000
Paul George, $7,800
Serge Ibaka, $4,500
The price points aren’t great, but Leonard and George will be looking to get the playoffs started on the right foot. Both players left last season’s bubble thoroughly embarrassed after failing to register a single point in the fourth quarter of a Game 7 loss to the Nuggets. Both have positive matchups against Dallas’ 20th ranked defense in terms of efficiency and Ibaka should be able to get enough looks to provide value at his price.
