The Los Angeles Lakers are among the favorites to win the NBA Finals despite needing a win in the play-in tournament just to qualify for the playoffs. The franchise battled through lengthy injuries to their two star players LeBron James and Anthony Davis, but they both returned and have been effective in limited games played together down the stretch.
Los Angeles Lakers injury report
Update, May 29th — Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is being listed as questionable to play in Game 4 vs. the Phoenix Suns on Sunday. Anthony Davis is also on the injury report as questionable due to a knee sprain.
As the postseason begins for the Lakers on Sunday, May 23, they do not have a single player listed on their injury report going into Game 1 of their first round series against the No. 2 seed Phoenix Suns.
Update, May 21 — Andre Drummond did go down with what appeared to be an ankle injury on Wednesday night vs. the Warriors in the play-in tournament. Drumm was unable to return to the contest and now his status is up in the air for Game 1 of the first round vs. the Phoenix Suns. We don’t have a designation for Drummond yet and the Lakers and Suns don’t play until Sunday anyway. If Drumm ends up being sidelined, this shouldn’t impact the Lakers too much. Anthony Davis, Marc Gasol and Montrezl Harrell can handle things down low.
