The No. 7 seed Boston Celtics meet the loaded No. 2 seed Brooklyn Nets in the first round of the playoffs after winning the play-in game against the Washington Wizards. Jayson Tatum and Kemba Walker will be instrumental for the Celtics to pull of the upset, but Boston is without key starter Jaylen Brown after the small forward suffered a season-ending wrist injury.

#NEBHInjuryReport update: Robert Williams (turf toe) did not practice today, per Coach Stevens. His status remains up in the air for Game 1.— Boston Celtics (@celtics) May 21, 2021
Jaylen Brown, wrist — Brown was a two-way force for the Celtics, averaging 24.7 points and 6.0 rebounds per game this season while routinely defending the opposing team’s top player. Boston would be the underdog regardless of Brown’s health, but the Celtics seemingly lack the firepower necessary to pull off an upset without him.
Robert Williams, toe — The big man is listed as day-to-day and hyperextended his toe in Boston’s win over the Wizards, according to head coach Brad Stevens. It’s unclear whether he’ll play in Game 1, but Williams should eventually be available for Boston in the series.
